This Month's Topic: Getting the shorter (defensive) player back in the game.

Over the years, many
aspects of the game has changed. With players averaging
about 6'7", the games has become more of a freak
show rather than a game of ball control. The players gain
strength, grow taller, and even obtain 40" verticals
when the guy is 6'9" 240 lbs. Some of the smaller
players have no chance to compete in a high level when
giant rule the court. Is there no way for smaller players
to show action in the offense? Or have the big boys
become so well trained that there is not even room for
small players for defensive purposes? What do you think
are some of the things that could be done to get the
smaller players more involved in a big man's game? Please mail me your response. |
