Play Without Fear?

You
seen them being worn by players ranging from high school
to the nationals. Almost every volleyball game I go, I
can see at least one pair of Active Ankles being worn.
Not even any other brands. Other brands? That's right
there are other companies that make ankle protection just
like Active Ankles. But what makes Active Ankles unique?
Is it worth the $40?I broke my ankle about 4 month ago. I jumped up to hit the ball from a over-pass by the other team, and the aggressive setter reached and tried to poke the ball over. But little did I know that the setter's right foot was under the net. I came down, landed on his foot, and my ankle rolled. When the x-rays came out, it was a avulsion fracture with a piece of bone chipped off. After 2 month, the hospital bill came. The splint cost me $70, 3 Ace bandages cost $40 each, 2 Motrins cost $11 and the plastic bag to hold the ice cost $32. With the total of emergency room time and x-ray costs, it came out to be $1200. If you take that money and brake it down, you can buy 30 Active Ankles or 400 rolls of athletic tape. First of all, Active Ankles are worn by many national teams such as women's Olympic gold winner CUBA, silver CHINA, and USA. Most college teams use Active Ankles too. Why are Active Ankles so popular amongst top athletes? One reason is players do not know where they are stepping. Many times, the hitter's feet land within half a inch from the blockers'. A tight set will bring the hitter closer to the net therefore giving the attacker's feet a chance to cross under the net and hurt blocker's ankles. This has happened to me twice and about every good volleyball player I've spoken to has sprained, broken, or even shredded his or her ankle at one point or another. But none of them had stopped playing volleyball because of the injury. But why put yourself out of the game for 4-6 weeks just because some idiot on the other team came under the net illegally? Secondly, Active Ankles are confortable. The flexibility of the hinge design really do give freedom of movement, but also protects against side to side movement. I personally like the T2 series better than the T1 because of the single strap design which takes less time to put on and also gives more support around the ankles because its one piece strap instead of two straps. Third, I like to say Active Ankle prevented me from braking my right ankle at a open gym not too long ago. Active Ankles really help stop the rolling action of the ankle which causes avulsion fracture and other forms of sprang in the ankles. When the ankle starts to roll to either the left or the right due to improper landing, the plastic sides will tighten on your ankles giving a pulling back motion at a split second. All in all, Active Ankles are a very useful product for all athlets who performe escessive jumping and running. Basketball, volleyball, football and many other sports all use Active Ankles as a ankle support and prevention system. The only problem with Active Ankles now is the price. Paying $80 for ankle support is just a little too much. I hope the Active Ankle company would lower their prices to $50 for both or $23 individually. If this could happen, a lot of people would buy the ankle support. Then a lot of people would not hurt their ankles. If you would like to order a pair od Active Ankles, or just want to find out more about this product, please visit Active Ankles. Thankyou for your support |
